Old Fashioned Bread Pudding with Vanilla sauce

4 cups cubed bread
1/2 cup raisins
2 cups milk
1/4 cup butter
1/2 cup sugar
2 eggs beaten
1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
1 tsp vanilla

Cube bread and place in large bowl. Combine milk and butter and heat in microwave till butter melts. Add egg and sugar and mix well. Add spices. Pour over bread and let stand for 10 minutes. Pour into greased casserole dish 9 by 9 (double for 13 by 9). Bake at 350 40-50 minutes till set.

Vanilla Sauce-
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup whipping cream
1 tsp vanilla

Combine and cook over medium heat till thickend and to a full boil 5 - 8 minutes Pour over bread pudding.

*note- You can use old bread, croisannts etc to make this
