Cabbage Casserole

1 head cabbage cut up into bite size pieces
1/4 cup butter
1/4 cup flour
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
2 cups milk
1/2 green pepper
1/2 onion
shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup mayo
Tabasco- optional

Boil cabbage till tender. Drain off all liquid. Saute green pepper in butter and add salt and pepper. Add milk and cook on low heat till thickened. Add mayo. Toss in cabbage and toss till coated. Place in greased 9 by 13 and top with shredded cheese. Bake till heated through.
