Quick and Easy Peach Cobbler

1 stick butter
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 can (5 ounces) evaporated milk
1 can (28 ounces) sliced peaches in syrup
Confectioners' sugar, if desired

Preparation Time: Approximately 5 minutes
Cook Time: Approximately 65 minutes

Heat oven to 325°F. Place butter in a 9-inch, square
baking pan and place in the heating oven.

Meanwhile mix the flour, sugar, baking powder and
salt. Mix in the evaporated milk until smooth. Pour
batter into the melted butter in the dish (don’t stir
them together).

Pour peaches and their syrup over the batter. Bake
until puffed and browned, about 1 hour or a little
more. Cool on a wire rack.

Serve warm or at room temperature. Sprinkle with
confectioners?sugar before serving, if desired.
